About Rob…

Rob has spent the past 30 years building and leading companies and developing leaders through inviting change, making critical choices, and achieving results. He has been an entrepreneur in a family business, managed in a public company, and led privately held companies. 

Rob has worked in industries as diverse as textiles, lighting and medical devices, with global manufacturing experience, while partnering with global clients. Reinforcing the understanding within a company that customers and end-users outside of a business have plenty of choice, Rob focuses on what’s most important; “How to engage and empower people to achieve company goals while exceeding client expectations.” 

Rob was President of Louisville Bedding Canada, a manufacturer of bedding products such as pillows, comforters and mattress pads, selling to big box retail stores such as Walmart, Costco, and Sears, from 2001-2010. This $40m company consistently delivered a customer experience that was rewarded with double digit sales growth, and a very strong ebitda. 

In 2011, Rob was named COO of the parent company, a $180m company located in Louisville Kentucky. With manufacturing in Ontario California, as well as 3 factories in Kentucky and 1 more in Montreal Canada, Rob oversaw a reorganization, and eventual sale of the parent company in 2013. 

In 2013, Rob became COO of Standard products, a lighting manufacturer. The lighting industry was and still is going through profound and fundamental change due to the commercialization of LED lamps and fixtures. Rob entered the company while the major global leaders were all in great flux; Philips, Osram-Sylvania and GE, all went through massive restructuring and divestment in the lighting field. Rob introduced a change in leadership within the company, and the repositioning of the company within a new and changed market. 

In 2017, Rob was recruited to join Medicom, a manufacturing leader in the medical device sector in North America, as their President. With sales in excess of $150m in medical device products in masks, gloves and gowns, Rob introduced a more collaborative culture, that focused on alignment of strategy to execution. 

Rob is following both a passion and a career-long cause; to create great leaders who will in turn create other great leaders. Doing so, Rob believes, allows companies to exceed their goals by taking smart and healthy steps to achieve great success.
